BIOGRAPHY

Cumie (“kyu-mee”) is an American singer, dancer, percussionist & music producer, with home bases in Barcelona/Mallorca, New York City and London.  She travels the United States and Europe giving concerts, performing either solo or with her band, and she is currently planning her first world tour. 

 Born outside Philadelphia and raised in the Pennsylvania mountains, Cumie has done extensive music studies and performances in New York, Florida and Spain. Singing in choirs and theater since childhood, Cumie has since studied or performed with various Masters in the field of music, including Bobby McFerrin, Dave Stringer, MuOM, Baird Hersey, Akim Funk Buddha and other internationally recognized artists.

Cumie’s music has been licensed by Emporio Armani fashion videos, starring Megan Fox and Rafael Nadal. She was invited to record for a film by Director Alejandro González Iñárritu (Babel, 21 Grams, Amores Perros, Biutiful).

Cumie’s home genre is soulful World-Music.  She records in many styles, ranging from New Age meditation and kundalini yoga mantra, to cutting-edge dance club tracks.  She has collaborated on recordings or performances with such illustrious artists as:  producers Mitch Moses & Vince McClean (NYC), world-music icon & British royalty James Lascelles (London), the triple-platinum band The Christians (Liverpool), and many more accomplished artists.  Cumie currently sings and produces the music for Deepwave Tribal Fusion project with world-class belly dancers, and she sings with MuOM, Spain’s only Overtone Singing Choir.
